The Sacred Art of Story: Creative Writing as a Spiritual Practice

Join Mary Vaughan, local author and writing teacher, for an intimate two-hour workshop exploring creative writing as a spiritual practice. Together, we will approach the page as a place of deep attention, where images, memories, questions, symbols, and stories can reveal what is already waiting to be heard.

Through a gentle opening practice, guided writing exercises, brief teaching, personal reflection, and supportive group discussion, participants will explore ways to write from intuition without forcing inspiration. We will listen for the living thread within our words, enter into dialogue with meaningful symbols, and create a short scene centered upon a character crossing a threshold.
